Quiet, clean community. Friendly neighbors. Community events. No noise from the busy surrounding streets.
The plumbing could be better. When the neighbor showers, foul and smelly water rises into the bathroom sink and remains until some minutes after they've finished. Of course, the sink is unusable during that time and I avoid going in there because of the stench of sewer from the water.
When I moved in, the inside of the toilet bowl was blackened as if someone had thrown crushed coal mixed with glue into it. After a month of regular use it cleared up. I have no idea what that was or why it wasn't taken care of before I moved in but I honestly don't think I want that knowledge in my mind.
Otherwise life here is pretty sweet though be warned the trash trucks do enter the parking lots around 5am on collection days to empty the dumpsters you're going to be awake while the truck is in your and all nearby apartment blocks unless you are an Olympic grade sleeper.
Staff and maintenance is friendly, responsive and promptly takes care of problems. Snow is plowed immediately by trucks after a snowball, just be sure to move your car so it can reach that space. Also be aware the policy here is there's no such thing as "your" parking space. I.e., the two spots immediately outside your door aren't "yours" so if you do have to shovel yourself, be ready for the spot(s) to be taken by the lazy and inconsiderate who move their cars from their unshoveled spot into the spot you've shoveled once you've left then finding you have nowhere to park without shoveling first after you return.
Relitively quiet. I really can't hear my neighbors. Newspaper delivery guy shows up at 7am on Saturdays with his music blaring so there's that. Upstairs apartments have very narrow entries and theres a 1 ft step up/down into the apartment.
Air drafts via the front door, blinds are very fragile and break easily, excessive water below apartment which requires running a dehumidifier 24/7 during the summer. Had to cork up holes in the kitchen to prevent rodents from running all over the apartment.
