Ratings & Reviews
4 Reviews for Somerset Mews
I had the pleasure of moving living in Somerset mews from August 2016 until July 2017. I moved from Missouri and did a lot of research on different apartments in Jersey before moving to the area. I read several mixed reviews about Somerset Mews, but for the most part they were good reviews. After searching for a month, Somerset Mews seemed like the best option. I rented a one bedroom. It was spacious and very clean. The counters were new. And the refrigerator seemed new as well. The bathroom although a bit dated, was very clean. I had plenty of space. There was a closet in the dining room area, closet in the bedroom, a closet in the hallway which I kept toiletries in. Also there was a closet and storage area in the living room which allowed me to store things like luggage and my vacuum as well as my tennis ball hopper. I also put my winter coats and winter clothes in that closet. There was plenty of room without being any clutter. Additionally I saw some reviews that said there were bugs. In one year, I probably saw about 8 bugs. Most times it was one of those water bugs with 50 legs, (the ones I hate the most). I maybe saw one spider and one or two of the normal bugs that you see in the summertime. They do offer free extermination whenever you request so take advantage of that service.
I am a very clean person so I had no other issues! And just generally I enjoyed the neighborhood and the apartment itself was very nice. It is a very lovely Indian Community. My neighbors were pretty pleasant. When you first walk in the hallway it does look like it needs to be updated. But once you actually get into your apartment its very beautiful. I also enjoyed the tennis courts fairly often.
I enjoyed the balcony and never had an issue with parking. Once my lease was up I had to move to shorten my commute to New York since driving back and forth to rehearsals was getting expensive and tiresome. Chris the property manager and she does a great job is very helpful. I complained
The trees and scenery are nice. They have a fitness center but hours open are few. They have. A nice pool but charge for membership or daily fee to residents. The maintenence on apartment is very good service wise. The apartments, even the one bedrooms are.pretty large, larger than the majority I have seen.
On the other side of the coin if you want to transfer to another unit say on another level or another complex under their management, you have to reapply with new security deposit up front and get your old security deposit back aftet You move. So transferring your existing security deposit is not allowed which sucks if you have limited income and savings. . Also if you have a Maintenence. Problem on the weekend which requires a private company to service you may like me this Saturday morning, have no hot water (et)until the following Monday.
Assistant rep to Kristen was very mean and not welcoming at all. Didn't show any respect for us during office visit and she was standoffish
Property manager Christine is very rude and not welcome people when u go to the office are call
What is a Certified Resident?
A resident who lives at the property and has completed a resident satisfaction survey.
Advertising properties provide a list of email addresses of its residents to Kingsley Associates, a third party market research firm, who then sends out the satisfaction survey to the residents. Properties may also conduct satisfaction surveys of its residents through other third party market research firms. In those cases, we will publish those survey responses as long as the questions conform to our standard survey format.
Because reviews are from Certified Residents, and are managed by a third party, you can feel confident that the feedback provided is accurate and trustworthy.
