Rider University, NJ

Getting its start as The Trenton Business College in 1865, the school now known as Rider University has developed into a liberal arts institution consisting of five academic divisions. The institution is is named after Andrew Jackson Rider, a successful businessman who owned vast stretches of cranberry bogs throughout the school’s surroundings in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Today, this community provides student housing for a bout 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students who pursue their education at Rider University.

In continued efforts to enhance student living at the university, the school has invested millions of dollars into construction projects over the past decade. New additions to the institution include a Student Recreation Center completed in 2005, as well as a LEED-certified academic building and expansion of the Bart Luedeke Center Theater that were finished in 2011.

These facilities enable students to pursue a variety of academic interests and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in student housing. In total, the university offers more than 60 academic majors and specialties, as well as graduate programs in Accountancy and Business Administration, and five programs offered through the Department of Graduate Education and Human Services.

Convenient and affordable off campus housing at Rider University gives students a chane to study at the school ranked 21st among Regional Universities in the North on the U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 list.
