Villager at Barton Run apartments are great for the interim. This our third year here and we're moving out this week so I thought I'd write a review! I just want to preface this by saying I am in no way a disgruntled tenant (like some of the previous reviews lol), I just want to share both pros and cons.
Pros: There is always ample parking spaces. We can have family over with no problem. The parking lot area is also well-lit so I've never had problems with feeling unsafe. The staff and maintenance are very nice. Whenever I need something looked at, Bill has always been here within a few hours to a day at the latest. Furthermore, as far as utilities, I think it's fairly reasonable. However, I'm not sure about the water as others have mentioned, but that does seem to be common in most apartment complexes (in Marlton). In terms of the apartment, it was freshly clean upon move-in.
Cons: One issue, primiarly the main issue as to why we decided to move, is our neighbors. We live above an older gentleman and we are a fairly young married couple. We're really quiet and respectful of him, particularly during the off hours of the day. However, he is constantly complaining about something everyday; things I have no control over. (I.e. dryer is too loud, leaves will drop in between the porch boards onto his porch, he even asks us to leave our apartment so he can do bug bombs which we're really uncomfortable with). And he is constantly ringing our doorbell a few times a day. Sometimes I just like to stay at my parents in order to avoid coming home to get 'yelled' at by something. Another issue is the smoke that comes in through adjacent apartments. And the last issues (again not necessarily related to management) is the lack of sunlight that comes into the apartment. I like with does and fresh air so the one sliding door doesn't offer much but I understand that's apartment living.
Although we decided to move to another place with more amenities, I would definitely recommend th
This was a nice place to live. Cozy apartment with friendly quiet neighbors.
Unless you own, there will always be those little issues.
Before moving in, make sure you and the staff go through the whole apartment. We had issues with old dirty carpeting and nails sticking out of the floor.
The lights would randomly flicker in the dining area, even if things like the hair dryer or vacuum werent being used.
Ive had communication/informational issues with the staff. If I needed something fixed, maintenance would just randomly show up with no reminder or warning, which was not fun with a newborn. I also was just informed (after living here for a year and half) that I needed a separate account specifically for maintenance, which again wouldve been nice to know in the beginning.
One of my more pressing issues was the washer.
Every time we used the washer somehow dirt would come out of the pipes back onto our clothes. And it seemed that it got worse every time it got fixed.
Honestly I love living here. Theres no such thing as a perfect place and I believe that these things can be fixed.
My husband and I will be leaving after our lease is up. But this was a pretty good experience for our first place to live in.
My girlfriend and I moved out once our lease was up...and they were also raising our lease over $80 a month for a 13 month lease.
I drove through the other day and saw that the weird guy still had his lawn chairs out next to the building where he used to sit and smoke cigars right by the pathway to the doors when we lived there.
I guess it's ok if you aren't too specific about what you expect for your money and some oddball neighbors.
The office staff & maintenance crew are very accommodating and quick to assist with any problems.
