I lived at the colonial apartments for almost 8 years. I do admit they let me out of my lease early as long as I made the substantial payment they required. I did all of this and was still sent a bill. The bill I received was for stained carpet and removed paint from my doors. You think that wouldn't be a lot of money, you're wrong! They charged me $600 to replace the doors and the carpet. Now I know for a fact they painted the doors with paint that they keep on site. Also, I did have my carpet replaced 2 years ago, but they only replace the hallway and the living Room/dining Room area. My bedrooms (3) were not done. They want me to pay for them to remove the carpet throughout the apartment when they're suppose to do so anyway. How is it my responsibility to replace them (stain or no stain) I was told that the final payment I made would be the only payment that I had to pay once I left. Now they're trying to get me for extra money. But that's not even the worst part! They already sent me to collections when they sent me the bill on March 1st for that amount of $600 And I moved out February 18th . So yes, I'm very upset. I never missed a rent payment not that that's an excuse but I'm upset because I was a faithful loyal tenant and even had two tenants move in based on my referral. Now I'm supposed to OWE them $600 for paint removed on doors and stained carpet after living there for almost 8 years. So disappointed now.
