I am posting this because I am tired of the fake reviews being posted by the employees at Sterling Parc. I express my issues with this place, I ask Elsie to return my calls, and all we as residents want is a voice. Don't try and drown out our concerns and issues with obvious fake reviews everyday. Respond to out problems and be professional. If not, I think it is time that the other residents who have had their voices silenced join together and report this to the Regional Manager. Elsie, I hope you decide to hold a meeting for us to speak our truth. Thank-you.
So I've lived here for almost 5 years and I am so upset at how this community has changed. The management company that took over put staff here that doesn't know what they're doing. The rent was increased. The grounds are not as pleasant as before. This place used to be great but then it changed tremendously. The layout of the apartment is not very big and the square footage for most apartments is small. They also have a computer room that my son and daughter sometimes use to do school research for when our computer doesn't work well, and mind you we pay for this service every month in the rent, but they will not shy away from telling my kids to hurry up and leave; and to not use the computer so much. It is so rude to make kids feel like they are not allowed to use them, even though we pay for that amenity every, single month. We wish this place was better but now my Husband is looking to move somewhere else. By the way, we have tried to contact Elsie in her office and every time we try and call, either Lesly or Ian will say she is not there. I ask for her to call me back, and nothing for months. What happened to this place?!?
This is my 2nd year here and while it was nice when i started out here, it became worse quick just in this year. I don't know, maybe a shift in management and staff, but this will be my last year here. I've had many issue with the appliances in my apartment and if you dare ask Tom about getting replacements, he gave me this sarcastic laugh and said that I would have to pay the whole cost; plus installation. These appliances I have were never new to begin with and they started acting up when i moved in. The only upside to this place is the team they hire to shovel during the winter; its a 3rd party outside team. Other than that, you don't get what you pay for every month. The pool is not very big and it was so filthy this past summer when they opened up, i know other residents complained about the filth. Plus, the staff here are not easy to get along with. Apart from Tom, i find Lesly at the office to be very condescending and short with me. I am the nicest around people and i can never get the staff here to return the kindness. I really wish they would just get new staff who act professional and maybe i would renew my lease again. For what you pay, you would expect a pleasant atmosphere you know.
ROACHES. I took the 1 bed apartment (with no parking spaces ever available) and I when I moved in, the first day I saw a bunch of roaches running round. I didn't even move my stuff in because of them. I called office and was told to go online to report through some portal. My login wouldn't work so I was told to call leslie from maintenance. She is so rude and has this contempt in her voice. she said go online and report, I told her it won't work, she said she will tell tom. 3 days go by, no call back. I call leslie back, again she did that loud breathing kind of sigh, I told her tom never called me. she said, "why would he"; I then demanded his number. turns out tom is the manager. I call him and he says that he can put me on a list for an exterminator but that he wouldn't be back for another month and half?!? I was so angry. I told him that that the roaches were unacceptable, I cant live like this. he says, "well you could just get your own exterminator"; really tom, for what I am paying and given that I was told this place prides itself on its maintenance, that is what you tell me. I still haven't moved my stuff in. I had to move back in with my parents and my dad is looking into suing them for a neglect of the apartment. I called their office and a young woman there said that if I want to move out, I have to pay 2 months in advance and then any other expenses the management company sees fit to charge on top of that. Apart from that, this place is not at all like how they show online. My God I wish I picked another place to live. it's already a very high rent here, plus those other hidden charges they do each month, but honestly how dare you rent to a new tenant and not check to make sure there is no bug problems; then to say to me I have to wait a month and half? I guess im expected to sleep in a very small apartment with roaches crawling on me at night; im sure most people would be ok with that! If anyone reading this is still considering this place, don't!!!!!
I have been here almost a year now and I can honestly say that while my time here has not been the worst, it certainly has not been the best. I decided to write this review after a number of residents here have been talking about an uproar that has been going on concerning a former resident who decided to write a negative review about this place. I do honor the fact that we all deserve free speech and a right to express any dismay with any place of residence; with that said, the employee who decided to reveal this during the last BBQ should really have considered not making such a big deal over that. I want to share my experience here. I live in the 2-Bedroom apartment with my Husband and Daughter and while we enjoy the neighborhood as a whole, there is in fact issues that exist here. The rent is very high and while some may think that what you see online is the actually rent, take into factor that you still have to pay for the water and also a required $75 for cable every month; whether you want it or not. Next is the apartment itself. It is not very big. The other issue is noise, in that I hear everything going on from my neighbor below me and on each side from thin walls; most days I have to tune out the loudness from neighbors' TV's, talking, music, etc. The next issue is the maintenance. When I moved in, I had interacted with the Maintenance Manager Mr. Tom and he was pleasant; for a short time. I then had many issues with ants and other critters so I asked him to put me on a schedule with an exterminator. That lasted a month before these visits suddenly stopped. I asked him if I could continue to have these visits continue since these ants kept swarming in, but he refused. I am now paying Orkin to come to my apt. every month; not acceptable. I recently called Mr. Tom to have the light in my Bathroom fixed and he said he is too busy to attend to it. It makes me feel like we are hated or something.....
