My husband and I lived at the Avalon in Bloomingdale for 2 plus years and I have all good things to say about it! We loved our apartment as when we moved in everything was very clean and well kept. We loved the apartment, we were in a one bedroom but it was just enough space for the 2 of us. Everything was very quiet, I have lived in other apartments where you can hear everything and it was so quiet. The grounds were always very well kept as were the amenities and if we ever needed anything done it was always completed within the next day. Everyone there was so nice and accommodating, especially Meghan - I don't have enough good things to say about her. She was beyond accommodating with our situation which was tough with finding a house and timing and was always so great to work with, she is amazing at what she does! I have all good things to say about Avalon and would absolutely recommend it to anyone, we found a house to move into but otherwise we would have stayed there again until we found a house. Everything was so clean and well kept and everyone there was very friendly- also super pet friendly so many people have dogs. I would 100% recommend it to anyone considering moving into apartments.
Rent changes too much and more than allowed by law . Turn over rate is high
Having rented in the past, I did not have very high expectations for an apartment community. Avalon Bloomingdale changed my mindset completely. Even before I had decided on where to live the staff at Avalon Bloomingdale was always fantastic at getting back to me and assisting me with any questions. Upon moving in, they not only gave a fantastic orientation, but they helped us bring our stuff in and monitored important deliveries when I had to be at work. To say they went above and beyond does not do justice to how great they have been. Not to mention the community is very warm and friendly. Avalon Bloomingdale should be a model for all apartment communities.
Avalon has very nice apartment layouts and good amenities such as in unit laundry and onsite gym and pool facilities. However parking is not assigned which can be a pain and some families definitely exceed the allotted number of residents per unit. The community does not cater to large families with lots of children however some find a way to reside in the small living space making it loud and crowded for all. Walls are pretty thin and you do hear a lot of your neighbors but overall the apartment unit itself is very nice.
