FAIR WARNING TO ALL RENTERS:
the management is absolutely atrocious at this apartment complex, they have no intent on finding you an apartment and would rather siphon funds from your wallet. My fianc and I were on the market for a new apartment complex for around the $1500 range as well as a downstairs unit. We came across what looked to be a seemingly quite and relaxed neighborhood at Tuscany. When I requested a tour it seemed as though they were not interested in the slightest. No big deal we decided that it was a nice enough place to overlook the negatives. Initally we were asked to pay a $700 dollar deposit to hold the unit, $150 of that being the admin fee..... $150 dollars to speak to someone and write down the prices of the units..... great, again ignored that as I wasn't expecting what happened next. After sending in requested income statements along with references I waited two weeks and never got a response from the management. Finally after I sent an email out the management attempted to send an email the same day I did and requested the income and references as if I had never sent it. I informed management that I had and of course they had it in their inbox the whole time. Again no biggie we all forget. What really got to me was after a few weeks I hadn't heard from them again and I was inclined to send them an email and ask what was going on as I only have one week left in my apartment and had yet to receive my offer letter. When I was emailed back I was astonished by the letter they sent. This offer letter was for a $1700 dollar unit not the $1525 we had agreed on, not to mention that the deposit on top of the $700 I already paid included $1710 initial rent +$1525 prorated rent and +$800 for two dog deposits. In total my fianc and I were looking at $4735 just to move into this place. Glad to say that we're weren't convinced and decided that the management is incompetent, yes you ash and your manager, and we will not be staying here.
Staff was very rude and seemed like didnt care to answer questions.
Make sure you see the unit before signing the lease. The come up with excuses as to why you can't see the available units, such as people living there and can't see it so you have to come back, etc. They show a mocked up unit. My appliances are old and counters cheap laminate, cupboards old. The pool area has been closed for over a month due to some kids causing a problem. Sure that's not good, but everyone suffers not having a pool and jacuzzi during the summer because of a few kids making a mess in the restrooms. Too extreme a reaction for a complex that apparently welcomes families.
Make sure you view the apartment they lease to you before you sign the lease. They advertise hardwood flooring and Granite countertops, however I am stuck in an apartment with carpet and MDF laminated countertops. And dont forget they do not do pest control so be prepared for rodant invasion when it gets cold. Not comparable to the quality of like priced housing in the area. The value is a couple of hundred dollars higher than others in the are with the same amenities.
The apartment was beautiful and wonderfully laid out. The grounds are exceptional with areas of grass, pet areas, and many pine trees, all well-maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful place to live.
