The University of Great Falls dates back to the 1850s when the Sisters of Providence set up a chapter in the Great Falls, Montana, area to serve the religious needs of the town's early settlers. In 1932, the University of Great Falls was created and has since grown into a quality liberal arts institution with an enrollment of 1,100 students. The college has become noteworthy throughout the area for combining Roman Catholic education, quality degree programs, beautiful student living opportunities and outreach education efforts into a well-rounded and modern institution.

The University of Great Falls undergraduate program is split into two schools - The College of Arts and Sciences and The College of Professional Studies.
