Have nothing but good things to say about living in this apartment; I was a former undergraduate student at Wash U. There's no additional fees beyond what Martine (the building manager) goes over very thoroughly when you sign the lease. Martine is very responsive and helpful and made my living experience here great.
I am a graduate student at Washington University and my friend and I were looking for a two-bedroom apartment. Given it's proximity to campus and restaurants, secure entry, and on-site management team, I think this apartment is reasonably priced if not cheaper than the apartments around with similar quality.
While we are still in the searching process and haven't made our final decision on housing, we were definitely impressed by Martine, the apartment manager. She was very considerate and patiently answered MANY questions I asked during the Zoom tour (which lasted 1 hour and 15 min.), and even offered to hold the apartment a bit longer when we expressed our concerns about the uncertainties revolving off-campus class start date during the pandemic.
To be honest, we were a bit concerned about the bad reviews others gave on the management team. However, as for now, we are very much satisfied with the apartment features (based on the Zoom tour) and the management team. We will update our review once we make the decision!
Management tries to change rule in mid-lease and charges you fees for breach of rules you never agreed on. The building is very old, you often see roaches in the basement where you have to pass in order to do your laundry. Rent is overpriced only because of the location, but please do yourself a favor and find a better place to live. As much as the area has a lot of restaurants nearby, loop is not a safe place to live.
This is a good and great place to live at. It has a lot of amenities and is in a good area with friendly people.
Constantly intrusion of privacy, demands monthly inspection that is not stated on the lease. And actually my apartment is intruded once every week since the second month I moved in.
Try to charge over $100 cleaning fee every month hideously, and multiple one-time charge that has never been stated on the lease. Honestly it is even worse than just sleep in my car.
