I have lived here since February 2018, my rent has been paid on time every single month through automatic payment. This month, November, for some reason my rent was not paid on time, even though its automatic and there has never been an issue with the in the past 9 months. Apparently my account did not have funds, and the check was returned because they tired to early withdraw my rent before my account was ready for drafting. Again, never has been an issue before and nothing has changed. I was charged an additional $50 for the returned check, was told by the office manager not to pay my rent until she did some investigating, did not receive a voicemail from her until the weekend, so I was charged another $50 and seven charges equaling $10 for each day my rent was not paid. When I communicated my frustrations to the manager, I was told that if the amount isnt paid in full, myself and my daughter would be evicted from the premises. This is the FIRST time I have EVER had an issue come up, and the office refuses to provide any grace upon me, even though I have always been a loyal/responsible tenant and pay my rent ON TIME. So this month, I was forced to pay a total of $1300 dollars for miscommunication and electronic fault. Other concerns: when it is hot outside, the apartment takes extremely long to cool, so I have purchased extra air conditioning. Now that it is 20 degrees outside, I have my heat set on 78 because it is extremely cold in my apartment and will not even get to 75 degrees on the thermostat, which means I have to dress as if I am outside and use extra blankets while inside my apartment. Thought I'd take a minute to praise the management of Patterson Place. Kathy and Sarah were very helpful when making sure that my maintenance requests were completed in a timely manor. The neighborhood is very friendly and the units are great.
Would Rate Higher If Rental Costs Were More Moderate. They Think They Are Upscale But Cabinets And Counters Are From The Sixties, Units Are Not Insulated Well And Parking Is Always An Issue.
