I love the downtown location. I am in a studio with 2 large closets and 2 large windows. I love that the floors are original. This gives my unit a unique feel. I like the fitness center and the community room, especially the fireplace now that winter is here. I like the convenience of the parking ramp attached to the building. Noise barriers in my building are great. Love having W/D in the unit. I also love the monthly socials. Residents are very friendly.
Although there is still construction going on I really appreciate how friendly and quiet everyone is. I love the resident socials and how much effort is put into them by both the management and the residents.
I have been a resident for almost 4 years. I loved the presvious management team, so I was understandably apprehensive when the new management team came in. I decided that I wanted to move to a bigger unit in the building on short notice and the management team did everything the could to get me into the unit I wanted, and in the timeframe I needed. They were friendly and efficient and I was pleased with the end result. The owner of the building is fantastic and he genuinely cares about his residents, and this beautiful building. This is evident by how well the building is maintained. The maintenance team in this building is A++. Requests are handled right away and the team is always super friendly. I have not one regret about living here in this building.
The Pioneer Endicott is a gorgeous building. The marble lobbies and modern apartment finishes are great.
Unfortunately, the management of the building has fallen apart over the last six months. When I first moved into the building, the leasing and management team was great! They knew every tenant by name, and addressed problems immediately.
After David, Kim, and Sandra left, it became nearly impossible to get anything done. It took four days for the office to track down a missing FedEx package. After construction was finally completed in the Endicott on Robert lobby, I requested that they set me up in the directory for that building, but they couldnt figure out how. I finally quit asking, and wasnt able to buzz up guests or delivery people for the last few months I lived there.
What once was a pet friendly building, has become a pet tolerant building. Instead of dealing with the few irresponsible pet owners, they send rude and condescending emails to every tenant. (Apparently pets are no longer allowed to urinate on the sidewalks?)
It is a shame to see a great resident community and a beautifully restored building become what it has. Overpriced and poorly managed.
Long story short, the management was absolutely horrible to me! When working with a leasing agent, I had a family emergency pull me out of state. When I called about the apartment, they informed me I was charge for a holding fee of $300. I had no idea I was even holding an apartment! I had filled out an application ($35 fee) following the leasing agent's advice to get on a waiting list. I could not sign a lease as I had not seen the apartment, and they refused to refund me. They were rude and hostile, and told me to hire a lawyer but it wouldn't do me any good.
For over a century, it's been one of St. Paul's most enduring downtown landmarks. Now, this elegantly renovated 16-story complex has been re-imagined to meet the needs of today's resident -- all while maintaining its cherished 19th Century charm.
