Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, founded in 1969, offers individuals the chance to pursue more than 75 associate's degrees and over 40 certificate programs. The main campus is located in the heart of Cincinnati, putting it within reach of public transportation routes and making it easy for students to find college apartments nearby. Cincinnati State offers degree programs and certification in four major areas - Business Technologies, Innovative Technologies, Health and Public Safety and Humanities and Sciences. Individuals can also earn credits to transfer to four-year colleges if they want to pursue bachelor's degrees.
The college enrolls more than 10,000 students and has a number of satellite campuses in the Cincinnati area. Nursing is the most popular degree program at Cincinnati State. Engineering, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education and Business are also highly sought after tracks. Since the community college does not offer on campus housing, students will need to find college apartments in Cincinnati or outlying suburbs. Since the city is on the border of Kentucky, enrollees are also able to seek off campus living opportunities in certain Northern Kentucky counties, including Boone, Campbell, Carroll and Grant.
When students are not attending class or studying, they can join one of the many student-run organizations at Cincinnati State. This is a great way for individuals to meet new people and make friends with their peers. Off campus, sports enthusiasts can catch a major league baseball game, as the Cincinnati Reds call this urban community home. The Newport Aquarium can make a fun destination for a day off, and there are many different museums and landmarks in the city as well.
