Forest Lake is a beautiful city that is quietly growing. It is conveniently located on I-35 on the way to Duluth.
However, it is only a half hour to the Twin Cities and even closer to the suburbs.
If there's one piece of advice I can give you it's: Look elsewhere.
It's so sad that I have to leave a bad review when the place isn't even open yet. I guess this review is based on the incompetency of the manager (Jeanie). I called about 2 weeks ago and wasn't able to reach anyone so I left a message. Over a week went by and didn't hear anything. So I try again and leave a message on Facebook this time and instead of saying "What's your contact info we'll reach out to you" I get an apology and told to try calling again. Sure enough I call and once again nobody answers and I leave a 2nd message. This time my call is returned. I set up a time to go look at the complex and since i'm moving from out of state I ask my girlfriend to go look at the place for me. My girlfriend drove about 1 hour after work to go to the appointment I had made with Jeanie. My girlfriend shows up on-time but there's nobody there. We both tried calling Jeanie multiple times on the main number as well as her cell and also sent her messages to find out where she was. Dead silence. About 3 hours later I get a text message from her saying she got stuck in a meeting. Seriously??? That's just a pathetic excuse. So my girlfriend wasted 1 hour driving to Forest Lake and over an hour going home for absolutely nothing. Jeanie insisted that we reschedule because of how beautiful Lighthouse Lofts will be but ask yourself a question...when a problem occurs (everyone will have some type of issue maintenance etc) how will the beauty of the building matter? If your AC goes out and the management company can't get their act together and you're stuck without heat when it's 10 degrees outside? What if something else breaks? It all won't matter because the management company has clearly put someone in charge that doesn't value a tenants time or money (in this case prospective tenant). My advice: Look somewhere else.
Great features! Close to local shops, restaurants and business.
