Lived here for 7 years, updated review:
The Village is a hole. You live here if you can't afford to live anywhere else, and the price to get in keeps going up.
Maintenance staff has no experience in some cases, and work is always done on the cheap. Wood around windows is rotted, there is NO protection from sound in neighboring apartments.
I've stopped calling the office & emergency maintenance for noise complaints because (although they will talk about 3 strikes & a resident is out) they NEVER DO ANYTHING. If they can't hear it from the hall with AC or heaters going, you're out of luck in your bedroom thumping with their bass.
Apartments are renovated as residents move out so I'm sure new residents will have new appliances and cupboards that aren't mysteriously sticky, but if you're already here, they don't care.
Plumbing & infrastructure is ancient. Windows are barely set in the frames, water leaks in all the time. MAINTENANCE DOES NOT CARE.
Like hot showers? It'll be warm, yes. But 50/50 chance on hot.
Laundry rooms are fine, unless someone has been dumping urine into the wash sink. (Wish I was kidding.)
I have a cordial relationship with a few first responders in the area, and they all worry about me living here. The Village is WELL KNOWN to Wixom PD & EMS. Especially if you live in the interior of the complex.
Going for a walk? Plan on being harassed regardless of gender or nationality. Downtown Wixom is lovely! The Village is not.
So why am I still living here? Like I said, you live here because you can't afford to live anywhere else, especially with area rent going up. I'm sticking it out here & picked up a second job so I can save for a house. I remind myself of that every time my neighbors play that loud freaking music at all times of day. I guess living in this ghetto is the price I'll pay to get my own home.
The apartment is so cute! Im hoping to move in soon.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first came into my apartment. Without having seen it prior to moving in, I was not sure what I was getting myself into. When I opened the door, I smelled fresh paint, new carpeting, new appliances, new flooring, and new cupboards in the kitchen and a new vanity in bathroom, and I wanna say new kitchen and bathroom faucets. It was awesome. Ive lived in several different apartments through the years and this one is by far the best yet.
My mom lives in here and she love it
Place is good for money but not good for management and maintenance support. Even if you submit maintenance request leasing office expect to call them personally. They dont fix stuff for years and later charges tenant outrageous while moving out. Btw You can not challenge it
