Thomas M Cooley Law School, MI

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School was established by a group of Michigan lawyers and judges in 1972, and continues to provide student living for those who wish to enter the field of law. Presently, Cooley Law School has the third largest law school faculty, the largest student enrollment, the largest minority student enrollment and the largest foreign national enrollment, factors which have led to its reputation as a diverse learning environment. Currently, the institution operates a main campus in Lansing, Michigan, and satellite campuses in Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills and Grand Rapids, and the school has plans to open a new learning center in Tampa Bay, Florida. Student housing is available near each of the existing locations, and students have the option to live in off campus housing in the surrounding communities. The Lansing campus tends to be the most popular, and college apartments in this area place students just a few blocks from the banks of the Grand River.

The majority of students at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School work toward a Juris Doctor degree, though the institution also offers a Master of Laws degree. In addition, Cooley Law has formed partnerships with Oakland University and Western Michigan University so that it may provide joint degree programs that bestow J.D. degrees along with a Master's of Business Administration and Master's of Public Administration.

Aside from the educational opportunities at Cooley Law, many students choose the institution for its exciting environment. Lansing is home to more than 114,000 residents and commonly hosts the festivities and events to entertain such a large crowd. Off campus housing in Lansing places students in a community that is known for several annual municipal and heritage parades, a vibrant music scene highlighted by an annual Jazz Fest and Blues Fest, and a variety of museums, theaters and markets, including the famous Allen Street Farmers' Market.
