Located in the town of Battle Creek, Michigan, Robert B. Miller College is a fairly new addition in the state's educational landscape, but it has already begun making a name for itself. The school was initially envisioned by Bob Miller Sr. in response to a local survey that found many Battle Creek residents were in need for an academic institution able to provide a high-quality bachelor's degree program. Soon after, board members of the Miller Foundation - established by Miller in honor of his parents - began exploring the formation of a new area college. With the assistance of the Guido and Elizabeth Binda Foundation, the Robert B. Miller College was officially established in 2005.
According to its mission statement, "the Robert B. Miller College is a private, independent, nonprofit, degree-granting institution offering quality education. The College meets the educational needs of a diverse student population by allowing them to complete their educational programs in a variety of learning formats. The mission is to graduate students who exhibit a high level of competence in their area of study and demonstrate service to the community. The College values student learning, critical thinking, oral and written communication skills and an understanding of a globally-oriented world."
