DONT RENT from ROCO. My mother, who is disabled and has a caretaker, lives in Stone Crest Townhomes and the property manager is the worst person that I have ever encountered as a "landlord". On 9/5/17, my mother had a HEART ATTACK while dealing with Yolanda, the PM at Stone Crest Townhomes, and her refusal to accept mom's rental pymt from my sister on my moms behalf. My sister tried to remit payment at 9:35 am on 9/5/17. How do you refuse to accept someones rent and how does the owning company allow their leasing manager to treat disabled residents this way?
I contacted ROCO on 9/5/17 at 9:55 am. Shannon Schaab, Regional Manager, originally told the number I dialed was her direct number (via email) as I had been working with Shannon and Ally Jones (Operational Excellence Consultant) back in July to get my mother out of this place. That wasnt Shannons number. In the meantime, my sister drove my mother to the Leasing office with her rent & the letter Roco sent to prove that was her correct rent amount. While I was emailing them, there was a disagreement with my mom & Yolanda with Yolanda again refused to accept my the rent, she told my mom her that wasnt the most updated invoice for her rent. A Caucasian maintenance told her to give my mother a 7-Days notice even though rent wasnt late. Yolanda told my mom if she didnt pay her rent by 5 pm that she would assess a late fee. My mother left the rental office upset, out of breath and shaking. I emailed both Shannon and Ally immediately after I couldnt reach them on the phone to explain what happened & asked them to contact my mother with her correct rent amount by 5 pm to avoid the late fee(again, fixed income). I also reminded them they OFFERED to allow my mom a 30-Days notice back in July 2017 so she could move out without penalty due to the negative interactions with Yolanda. They NEVER sent the 30-Days notice. I told them that at this point we would use the email that I have of as notice.
