While my apartment looks nice, more things have broken in my apartment than any other apartment I've ever lived in. Things don't get fixed quickly so I often find myself without basic things in my apartment (washer, heat, toilet, etc.).
My family and I just moved into Citation Farms in Farmington Hills, MI. We have only been here three weeks and it has been a nightmare. My husband paid a $500 reservation fee to have a first floor 2/2 apartment. The day before my family and I flew in from Florida to Michigan, they told us that there was a mix up and our apartment wasnt available. The day before! So my husband scrambled on the phone with them trying to find an apartment for us and our two children. They found a 2/2 with a den on the second floor. This is where the problems really began. They accidentally gave us a bogus address and when my husband went to set up power, and rental insurance he realized that the address wasnt right. So the power company and rental insurance company were going to bathe us to cancel the services and put them to a new address. Citation Farms didnt even apologize. Now when we got to the office to ask for a key, the key they gave us wouldnt work. So they had to cut us new keys. Once we moved in, we realized that the den and the master bedrooms windows wouldnt close all the way and the rooms were unlivable. The temperatures were in the single digits. How is this acceptable???? I could understand if this was Florida, it would be no big deal. But the rooms were just as cold as outside. Also the master bathrooms vent fan didnt work so condensation runs down the walls after a shower. The balcony door doesnt lock either. With young children this is a huge safety issue. This was all reported at move in and it took them several days to come check it out. All they managed to do was slam the windows down so they close at the bottom. The rooms are still freezing, because the seal between the panes are old and cracked. So the wind still comes in. The managed to lock the balcony door, but now it wont open. It has been two weeks since they first came to access the situation and they still havent come back. And to add insult to injury they sent my husband an email asking him to
Friendly, quiet and safe community. Good location, close to important supermarkets and easy access to important highways.
