I don't keep track of the rental market so cannot rate value for the money. Could not see the apartment before move in. Problems with carpet not being cleaned properly. Would like gym at the clubhouse. Whoever designed the complex was brilliant!

Thank you for the great review, all criticisms will be taken constructively. In regards to our value in comparison to the local rental market, our rent prices are highly competitive, but we provide a better value because we include some utilities that our competitors do not.

The leasing office staff have been pleasant and nice to do business with during my time here. We have even shared a few laughs. They respond quickly to repair requests and follow up on repairs with a phone call from the leasing office. In unit washer and dryer along with free utilities (except electricity) is what convinced me to live here. The pond view from my apartment was the icing on the cake and sealed the deal for me.

Worst experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. EVERY YEAR YOUR RENT WILL GO UP. Horrid customer service. If you make a maintenance request they dont even schedule a time that theyll be there when youre home! They just invade your space and property. Because of this place I WILL NEVER RENT AN APARTMENT AGAIN.

Ive been living here for a few months and it started off great until the air went out.... then it was awful! I first called maintenance and they told me that they were unable to replace the part at the time and would have to place a request for repair in the leasing office. I then called the leasing office and they told me that my estimated time for repair was July 23rd! It is 95 DEGREES in my apartment currently and both the office manager and corporate manager have offered no help to rectify the situation. I asked if they could provide a portal air conditioning unit and they said they could not because all of them were currently being used. So they are happy with me living in unacceptable living conditions. Michigan law for health and safety states that the landlord must maintain a safe and habitable space as agreed upon in the lease. I dont know about anyone else but I do not believe 95 degrees would pass that regulation as accaetable living conditions.

I am between the good or great rating for Southport. This is my second year and I dnt have major issues. My main issue was/is the bugs creeping in from the closed patio throughout the yr. Maintenance has been called various times to war off the bugs. My most important advice to you, is to NOT stay on the bottom floor if you move here. Otherwise, everything is all good here. Friendly. Quiet neighbors. Clean landscaping. Friendly leasing office. Maintenance request are of decent timing.
