I undertook a lease transfer from my friend in this apartment. The transfer process was the worst I have ever seen in the neighborhood. We pay hard earned money as rent and deposit and the management here does not value it. They kept delaying my transfer process and made me pay month to month rent, late fees and court fees for non payment of rent for no fault of mine. After this, they did not intimate anything about DTE and consumers and made us pay extra fees for these. This management is all about exploiting poor rent payers and making money. Horrible experience. Please avoid.

Ive lived at BV for a few years now. The places are great considering the cost of living in Oakland county. However there are definitely trade offs. There are a lot of bugs, the buildings are older with minimal insulation and the windows are drafty. The bathrooms and kitchens are older and if dirty people lived in the units before you, its highly unlikely youll ever truly get it clean clean. Utilities are expensive, heat in the winter and air in the summer is crazy, and the water bills went up from ~$35/mo to $85/mo after the complex stated they had been paying for partial water bills and will no longer. The pool and gym havent opened for the last two years despite Covid bans being lifted. The maintenance staff is very nice and helpful. The office staff however, specifically Michele, have a LONG way to go. Shes rude, accusatory, unfriendly, and has no respect for tenants that dont bow down to her. There is a very large Indian population living in the complex. Everyone is very friendly and for the most part maintains their areas but you will always smell very ethnic cooking in your units and lots of kids running around. Rent has consistently been raised while amenities slowly go away. I do enjoy my place, but I will be happy when Im not at the mercy of Hartman and Tyner with their rising costs.

This place is not bike friendly. You can not keep your bike under your carport but you can park a motorcycle. The lease does not state no bikes but they will fine you for parking your bike. If you live on the upper level you have to carry your bike up and down the stairs. So nice for a woman with 2 children.
