Mezzo has been our best rental experience to this day. Everything about Mezzo deserves 5 stars plus ratings - great location next to T & downtown, the apartments are very spacious, layout is modern and stylish, love the courtyard and most of all the people who manage and maintain the building are extremely nice. We have had very bad experience living at AVA Somerville, coming to Mezzo from that has been a world of difference. Would recommend Mezzo to anybody looking to move around orange line.

After nearly four years at Mezzo Design Lofts, I am updating my previous 5-star reviews on Google to accurately reflect how our experience has evolved.
Once you start comparing similar-priced apartments, youll see you wont get your moneys worth at Mezzo. The building has a garage that doesnt always open on the first few tries driving back and forth to the sensor even after a new system was installed. Despite the package locker system they advertise, your items can be left in the hall, in the loading dock or outside the building. And youll walk past overflowing trash bins in the garage and outside the building on a regular basis. Even after meeting with management about these issues in February, they have not been resolved at the time of writing this.
It should not be the residents' job to police and report communal problems affecting the building. However, after two first-rate staff members Paul and Rob left their positions here, that has become the norm. (Dont get me wrong, I can live with those minor annoyances. There are much bigger problems in the world. It just seems weird that were paying for them.)

I think they do a great job with creating a safe and pleasant community within the building. Rob is always so nice and willing to help with any issues we have. There have been more social events, which is nice to see.
I do not give it an excellent rating because there are some areas of improvement. I feel having only 6 guest parking spots for the entire complex is not appropriate for the size of our building. I went to get a guest pass, and there were none available so my guest had to park further from the building and walk in the cold to get to my place. With a 4 level garage, I feel every apartment should have the right to at least one guest spot to make it fair to us residents and our guests.
Also, I think the gym equipment could be updated a bit. The machine in the corner takes up a lot of room and serves little purpose. It would be nice to replace that piece of equipment with a squat rack or Smith machine so that way many exercises can be done on that one piece of equipment.
There are a lot of opportunities to engage with your neighbors; it feels like you live in an open community with very welcoming residents.
