It's clean, quiet, and in a good location.
Great office and maintenace staff. I have been a resident here over ten (10) years
and very pleased with the recent efforts to upgrade the property. The property manager and assistant are compassionante and professional. They really do care.
Mr. Name is Reginald M. Watkins, and apartment # 1007-D.
I stayed in two different apartments in this complex. The first one was good, I had minimum problems (and interaction) with maintenance staff and management. The next year, my now wife and I moved into a different unit. I found out pretty quickly that my good experience was a unique one. We soon discovered sewer flies coming out of our bathroom and kitchen drains. We reported this problem (with the dead evidence) to both the maintenance and management. Maintenance quickly said that they will not pursue a fix to the issue, and Management reported that the issue was "not that bad" and "we could live with it". Upon speaking with other tenants, our issue was not unique and they had similar issues and responses. For our own sanity and health (these bugs spread illness because they live and bread in the sewer), we had to move out quickly.
Living here is a definite roll of the dice. If you get a unit with no problems, you will have a good experience; however, if you get a bad one, do not expect Management or maintenance to fix or even pursue fixing the issue. You will get a response to "live with it or break the lease".
Roaches and high priced units. Avoid this place if possible.
I am not one to write bad reviews but I think this is really important. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope to help someone else so they don't have all of the terrible experiences I have run into here.
First all of the appliances are old. In working condition but, barely. The disposal under my kitchen sink has been broken more often than it has been working in the nearly two years I have lived here. This is a major inconvenience. As soon as the disposal stops working the sink stops up and makes it impossible to do dishes or even wash your hands without black grime seeping up through the drain. There was also an occasion where black water came up through the drain when I didn't run the dishwasher or sink. Curious. I come to find out that every apartment above and below me share the same drain pipe and it was clogged at my apartment so that black water was waste water from every apartment above mine backing up into my sink....which was full of dishes...because my disposal was broken...so that was fun to clean.
Our dish washer works...sort of. I am meticulous about washing dishes before I put them in the dish washer. They are spotless before they go in. Yet even still the glasses on the top rack are covered in food debris when they come out. That begs the question....from where?
The antiquated heating and cooling system is not individual per unit. Once the management decides to switch to heat in the fall the whole building has heat. If you get a 90 degree day after that point, get ready to sweat your tail off. But what's worse, and potentially dangerous is if they switch to cold air too early like they did this year. I'm sending this review shivering from my apartment. We had a string of cold days and my room is currently 55 degrees. That may not seem too cold but my legs and fingers hurt. I'm literally wearing gloves in my room. I'm a grown man. I'd feel terrible if someone had a child or small animal.
