I don't usually review a place but because of our experience I feel I must. The location is convenient because of the access to the metro station but that is it.
It is 1:30am and I cannot sleep because I can hear the neighbors talking and playing music. The layout is whack. Our master bedroom is next to our neighbors bedroom and you hear EVERYTHING. We have recorded lots of audio of late night noises that have kept us awake. If you want to pay $1500/month to be kept awake by barking dogs and noisy neighbors this is the place for you. Also maintenance has a tendency to just walk in after a quick knock without a phone call or verification of what time they are planning to drop by. My wife was just getting out of the shower in one instance and the other just finishing getting dressed. She was not please at all with this. My recommendation is to stay away if all you want is to relax and sleep peacefully...and feel a bit of respect from not only the neighbors but the leasing office and maintenance.
The property management is poor. They don't address issues that you have with the building or your apartment until you send nasty emails in which they never address your issue and basically say that there is nothing that they can do. They will increase rent yearly as amenities aren't available 24 hours and diminish. If you like living with hoodlums then this is the place for you. Imagine relaxing on your rooftop with children present and residents get into verbal altercations in front of your kids and the police are called and come on property with guns drawn. The common areas are filthy and NOT cleaned thoroughly. Th amenities are never replaced The carpet gets cleaned once a year. You would think that if the building has issues and there is a leak in your apartment, the property should be liable for damages to your personal items. They truly don't care at all and say that, you have to deal with it. Also while maintenance came in to fix a leak, they took it upon themselves to run my washer and dryer and touch my laundry (highly inappropriate). There aren't any resident activities and the leasing staff changes every other month. Which speaks volumes for the property management. For the price that you pay you may as well move to Columbia or Towson.
Community center is dirty and in holidays gets even worst! Trash shoot is always full. Elevators are dirty on weekends. Carpet on the third floor is nasty.
I love the amenities, but I don't believe they are kept as well as they could. The air conditioning in the fitness room frequently breaks down. The cushions on the roof top furniture is not water resistant and stains, doesn't appear to be cleaned regularly. The carpet from elevator to club house hasn't been cleaned. The elevator breaks down semi-regularly. Lights blow regularly in the apartment and hallways.
The apartment and infrastructure are great. Parking rules, noise rules, are unenforced. The hall carpets are very filthy. Lobby area is well maintained.
