Pros: The neighborhood is safe. No cars really pass through here unless its a resident or someone visiting a resident. Easy access to I-83. Maintenance has been really quick to solve issues that have come up when there were issues with the heat, kitchen light, toilet, and bathroom sink those were all resolved promptly. Cons: The windows and patio door have no insulation from sound, the weather, or bugs. We can hear I-83s traffic both during the day time and night time. The windows are incredibly drafty in the winter we cover all windows and the patio with plastic film. The film inflates from the wind a lot and sometimes the seal unsticks that is how drafty it gets. Because of those same gaps in the summer, the A/C cant keep up and it ends up being 78-80 degrees in our unit from around 3pm 7pm. Because of those same gaps, a lot of bugs get in everything from flies, beetles, spiders and the occasional wasp. We also have a huge silverfish bug problem I dont think those are coming in through the windows; I have seen them come in through the A/C vents. I live on the top floor and suspect the infestation is above our unit in the attic/roof, since that type of bug likes rotting wood. I have been reporting the silverfish problem since July (its now almost the end of August) and nothing effective is being done. A gentleman from Orkin came in July and in August and sprayed our unit, but just the next day after each spraying we still find 2-8 silverfish in our apartment per night, every night. Despite reaching out to the property manager, I have yet to hear back about when the attic will be sprayed/what additional steps are going to be taken to solve this problem since spraying our unit is not working. We are about to start the third month of living in a pest-infested apartment - I am very disappointed and disgusted that this issue is not being effectively addressed in a timely manner. I am strongly considering breaking the lease early to move elsewhere.

I will start with the positive, this is a great safe neighborhood, it is a great central location, with easy access to 83. The downside, is that you can hear all the traffic on 83 from inside your apartment. They are terrible insulated from sound (and the weather too). Our doors and windows are incredible drafty, to the point frost was forming on the inside wall next to the door during the winter. There are holes drilled through the window/door frames. When we have informed maintenance and they said without replacing the entire frame there was nothing they could do to help remedy, they also said it was not likely that replacement would be approved by higher ups. Maintenance attempts to be as helpful as they can, but you can tell most times their hands are tied by money saving measures from corporate. Most recently, they have began to renovate some of the vacant apartments, this has caused water to be shut off numerous times in the past few months, and the residents are never rarely of the shut offs. While they are willing to renovate new apartments, they have no interest in fixing the ones currently leased to tenants, for example our dishwasher has had trouble leaking and not draining since we moved in. I have complained multiple times, and maintenance comes out for a temporary fix. It has begun to be so disruptive to living in the apartment, that I am considering breaking the lease early to move elsewhere. Also there is no insulation between apartments, you can hear absolutely everything happening in the apartment above you. And I will not even get into the amount of bugs that get into these apartments, you know through the door frames with holes in them.
