I have encountered numerous leaks in my unit on numerous occasions over the past year as well, and I live on the 8th floor of a building with TEN floors. Management's response to concerns have been dismissive and rude and the quality of professional of management & resident service & satisfaction has significantly declined within the past 3 years that I have resided here. A few of the leasing team members are friendly; however, many have left over the past 3 years and I have witnessed a LOT of turnover of the leasing staff and maintenance team members, which suggests a lot, in my opinion, about the management team. The service/maintenance team supervisor & manager, Luis & Linda, do a poor job of handling of major maintenance requests. Additionally, the property manager & assistant property do not seem to be as concerned about residents, and try to mask it with putting on hokey community events, as if we are freshman in a college dorm. Particularly, I have had several issues with the assistant property manager, Wen, not being timely or responsive to resident concerns, even with regards to one of many email and phone calls made about leaks in my apartment for OVER 6 weeks, at which time I experienced MORE leaks and water damage in my unit. The frequency of the leaks in my apartment resulted in me contacting Southern Management's Corporate Office for their Community Relations department via their online portal and phone. Afterwards, I FINALLY get a response from the property manager, whose disposition in rude although she tries to fake a sense of concern. I would advise potential leasers to avoid this place at all cost, simply because they may woo you initially, but eventually the true colors and claws come out. Please review other sites and Google reviews too.
I just moved in. I'm pleased with the simple, yet comfortable and affordable space. Good people like Karen on the staff. Just what I've been looking for!
Love the location, the price, and the service. Moving in soon! Thank you!
While I would have once given this apartment a 5 star review and have in the past recommended this complex to my friends and coworkers, this is unfortunately no longer the case. Our 10th floor apartment has flooded at least 6 times in a year and a half due to water seeping in from a water tank on the roof. We would return home to find our entire closet, belongings including, soaked.
After being assured multiple times that the flooding would not occur again, we experienced yet another flood. At this point we were told by management that perhaps it was in our best interest to transfer to another unit, an idea that my husband and I entertained.
In early March we learned that an executive one bedroom would soon be available on the first floor and we signed a transfer agreement, putting in our 30 day move out notice on our current unit.
Less than 3 weeks before we were scheduled to move in, Middletowne management called to inform us that we would no longer be able to transfer as the current resident did not have legally have to vacate their unit. It was never communicated to us by management that this scenario could ever occur. A similar unit available two months later was offered to us, but we explained that having a yearly lease that ended in April of 2018 was already pushing it. We were surprised that, after irritation after irritation, that management was unwilling to meet our simple request to provide either a 6 or 10 month lease to us at the one year lease monthly price. Really? This speaks volumes as to how much Middletowne and Southern Management Corporation REALLY care about their residents. STAY AWAY!
Middletown is not an apartment. Rather a Family away from home. Just a trial will deffinetely Convince you.....
