2 things in a span of 2 weeks:
1. Keypad: it was so easy and convenient for residents to access their doors to get inside their apartment by pressing their passcode in. people enjoyed this until they switched out the pad with a fod key. Now, people have to remember to bring their fod key with them or they will be locked out.
2. Parking - parking was free - now a monopoly:
the parking garage had spots marked in 2 categories: resident parking ($60/80) or Unmarked. the garage is completely packed during weekdays from people using the METRO and working in the IRS. but at night, it is spacious. residents had access to freely park anywhere unmarked FREE of charge. NOW, they sent an email to residents that anyone parked from 1 to 5 AM are subject to tow. this targets residents that park on spots that are not marked overnight, as if to force residents to pay $60/$80 EACH month otherwise they get towed!
this parking garage has unmarked parking zones that are DOUBLE the amount of reserved parking spots. this sudden decision to threaten its own residents that park in unmarked zones is a clear sign of monopoly. staff is good and the apartment has good common areas, but bad changes recently might be a forecast in a transformation from a once beloved apartment/community and into a corporate asset of avarice and restraint.
Alsome, convenient, beautiful place to call home
Has very friendly staff that ensures their residents stay is comfortable by engaging in conversation and asking questions. The design of the layout of the building is interesting where there is basically a room on every floor where you can go for activities. They have yoga class, plenty of telecommuting spaces with wifi, weight room, game rooms with monitor to watch the sports, clin room, theater room, roof top and pool side grilling area. There is also a monitor setup showing the times for the metro, Zipcars available and the available Uber rides near by. The individual storage spaces available is very generous in space that is on par to any rental spaces like Extrastorage Rental and at low cost. You have reserved and unreserved parking in the parking garage. The New Carrollton Metro and Amtrak station is a 4 min walk.
