As expensive as the rent is, I would expect much more courteous customer service. If it does not make the complex money, there is no interest in providing what is best/ safest for the tenants. They continue to find new ways to charge excessively for everything. However, every time I have asked for something- from a copy of my lease, to parking a car for a few days, to asking for a notice a boy fire safety/ education ( after monthly fire alarms/ actual fires) - I was met with arrogance and requests were not accommodated. I do not feel valued. Definitely would expect more accommodating staff/ living environment for >$2400 a month. Yes, there are very nice amenities, but....
Staff and management are rude and unhelpful. The most helpful person worked as the concierge and sadly she left. Apartments are beautiful, but the people that work here make it an unpleasant home experience. It is great when you don't have to deal with them often. They offer beautiful rooms but it has to be rented out-so you paying additional to rent a room for parties etc.
When we moved to Maryland we viewed several properties in Hanover, Odenton, Glen Bernie and Columbia. Serenity Place made our top three so we revisited the three properties. We choose Serenity Place base on our interaction with Mario (great customer service). As I met the rest of the staff I could tell customer service is important to the organization. The front office, the concierge, and the maintenance crew all above par.
I have lived here for one and a half years. The building is quite, turnaround time on maintenance request is short, the neighbors are pleasant/respectful and the place looks great!
Love it! I live here at Serenity Place and must say that the property exceeded all of my expectations the moment I moved in. The community is nice and quiet. The management and maintenance team are very hands on and have made my transition as seamless as possible. I'm glad I chose this property as my new apartment home.
DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL TRY AND STEAL FROM YOU!
I've known I've been moving out for about 6 months now. I contacted Serenity to get a two month lease extension while my house was finished being built. When I signed the lease extension I spoke to them and told them I'm leaving at the end of the extension, and asked what did I need to do to move out. I was told clean the place, turn in the keys, and leave a forwarding address. No inspection, nothing else required. I've been to the front desk twice since signing the extension to make sure that nothing else was required and we were on track to leave. My wife also spoke to another person from their front desk to make sure we were on track and there were no issues or surprises.
I go to turn in my keys today and have been informed that in their system I haven't given notice within 60 days that I've been extended and will need to pay over $4600. This is the same lady I spoke to 3 weeks ago to check and make sure everything was fine with me moving out (and deal with the fact that their system doesn't cancel payments within a 2 week period so it had double charged me rent).
This is absurd and seriously damaging. They have known I've been moving out and we have been in constant contact with their management team. It was a 2 month lease extension, and they think I wanted to auto-renew?? that doesn't even make any sense, that would automatically put me at 4 months. I would have just done 4 months in the first place if that's what I wanted!! How on earth I'm supposed to come up with over 4600 dollars while make a mortgage payment I don't know. I suppose I'm going to have to not pay them and then try and deal with my credit while I fight them in court. But they are not getting money from me for an apartment I'm not living in.
