Prior to moving to our home, my husband and I researched and visited approximately 15 communities in The Ellicott City and Columbia area. We have lived at Ellicott Grove for two years now and are extremely happy with our decision and have enjoyed living here. I know approximately one year ago a new owner and management company took over. I will admit that I was slightly nervous as no one likes change. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The changes that have occurred from landscaping, new toilets, installation of new granite countertops in the kitchens and bathrooms, along with the upcoming dog park and the new fire pit area have had a positive effect on the community. Yes, while having contractors in your home can be looked at as an inconvenience, the final package is well worth it. Our community backs up to a wooded area and definitely gives you that country feeling. The grounds are maintained and are clean. The building that we live in is extremely quiet and our neighbors are great. My personal opinion is that Ellicott Grove is the best community in the Ellicott City and Columbia area.
I've been living at Ellicott Grove Apts coming on one year and I'm about to renew my lease. I've had a good experience during my first year of residence. The apt is upgraded and very modern with lots of closet space. I love that there is a washer and dryer in the unit. I have great, considerate neighbors which makes a huge difference. I have no complaints about the office staff. The manager Nikki Thomas has always been very kind and professional to me. The maintenance crew has rarely taken too long on my maintenance requests. I would be happier if a notice was left after the repairs were done informing me of their entrance to my apt. I have mentioned this to the office staff. Sometimes the parking around my building is full if I get home late and then I have to park a little further away. The water bill is shared among the other apartments of my size which is reasonable other than the administrative fee of $5 added every month which I do not think is fair. The electric bill is decent in the summer months but pretty expensive during the winter months even though I keep the temperature at the recommended setting of the electric company (68) which is not cozy and warm. The community is beautiful and kept clean. The gym and pool are very nice and the usage fee is only a one time charge which is great. There are so many stores and restaurants near by which I love! I would highly recommend living here!
Ellicott Grove Apartments is a wonderful complex to live in. There are many families living in this community which is nice if you have children of your own and are considering moving to Ellicott Grove. It is convenient to a few different highways which makes work travel easier. Everyone in the community is nice and welcoming.
I'm staying here because of my personal reasons and kids education otherwise, would never and will definitely not recommend to anyone.
I have enjoyed my experience with the office staff at Ellicott Grove. They work together as a team while delivering excellent customer service. While, I recommended a colleague from work there was not a second or third floor available for her to move in. I am employed at SSA and there were several of us that relocated to the area.
