Paragon at Columbia Overlook is perfect. The price range of the available apartments is fair to the location in which the complex is located. The neighborhood is safe and extremely quiet. The building is cleaned regularly and the leasing staff is professional and always willing to help.
Paragon at Columbia Overlook is a fantastic community. The apartments are modern and nicely design. Let's not talk about the convenience of living there! Everything is so close, Costco, Marshalls, Target, Weis, Wegman's, movie theaters, Columbia Mall. Then when you go home, put your bathing suite on, grab your book, and sit by the pool. You completely feel like you are at a resort. I just love it!
I was a resident at the Paragon at Columbia Overlook for over 2 years and just recently moved on August 17, 2017. An apartment community is only as good as the Property Manager. This holds true about the Paragon at Columbia Overlook. The Property Manager, Mrs. Kerri Ann Dorgan has poor interpersonal and resident relations customer service skills, a very dismissive and condescending attitude, and not empathetic. style. She comes across as if shes doing you a favor by allowing you to live at . The property is marketed as an upscale community however, it is on a steady decline to becoming a not so desirable community to live. There are quite a few internal issues that you will discover once you agree to live here. To name a few, cleanliness issues of the property, appliances that are not durable and do not work properly, and pest control issues. My building (8171) had cleanliness issues and consistently had a stale smell of trash in the building lobby area. The appliances in the apartments are very cheap. My washer NEVER worked properly and I had to constantly put in a maintenance request to have it fixed (stopping in the middle of washing cycles). Rodents have become an issue at the Paragon and that became a HUGE issue for me which was the final straw in my decision to move. My neighbor across from me experienced rats/mice crawling on their balcony windows and running around on their balcony, and a rat running down the 4th floor hallway. I had a dead decomposed rat found on my balcony which freaked me out. When my neighbor and I sent the Property Manager, Mrs. Dorgan pictures and emails concerning this issue she did not acknowledge it, nor did she apologize for the inconvenience and stress that these living conditions caused us. Bad customer service!
We have been at Paragon for just over 2 years now and have signed on for another year. Our experience here hasn't been without its issues but, for the most part, it has been great.
We were here with the old owner/management company and have lasted through the transition to the new, which is always a bumpy road. Like many others, we were not very receptive to the change initially; however, things get better with each passing day. The key seems to be communicating with the management and maintenance staff so we haven't been shy with any of our questions or concerns, irrespective of how trivial they may seem.
Yes, you can hear your neighbors from time to time and it can be frustrating. From "stomp stomps" upstairs to loud conversations or playing next door to trash trucks emptying the dumpsters, it is not always quiet. We've found that knocking on the door and asking the neighbors politely to be a little quieter works wonders. After all, they're people too.
Yes, there are problem neighbors in the complex that don't pick up after their animals, leave their trash where it shouldn't be, and generally don't follow the guidelines set out in the lease. The majority of people though are friendly and considerate. We've even been lucky enough to become very good friends with another couple that lives in the building next to ours.
The little things matter and Paragon knows that. They are always trying to make improvements, both big and small, for the community and are always willing to listen to and help residents. Keri makes it a point to try and develop relationships with the residents and Marcus has even offered to help carry in our groceries as recently as today.
Are we happy about the amount of rent we pay after signing on for another year? No. Are there some things about Paragon we'd like to change? Yes. At the end of the day though, we like living here. The experience at Paragon is what you make of it.
We love living here
