THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT CRAZY FEES AFTER MOVE OUT ARE 100% ACCURATE
Only choose Avalon if you want to deal with having your car vandalized and then being charged ridiculous fees upon move out.
The "security" is non-existent. My boyfriend's tire was stolen off of his car in the spot directly in front of our apartment and he had to pay ~$500 to replace it and buy wheel locks so it wouldn't happen again in the future. When he called management to inform them about this, they didn't offer any form of help or even reassurance that security was looking into the constant vandalism going on. One time we even came home to find our sliding glass, which had been closed and locked, open in the middle of the day. Thankfully, nothing seemed to have been stolen.
A couple of weeks before moving out I found a small house cockroach in my kitchen. We kept our apartment very clean and had never had a problem with bugs before so I'm guessing it came from a neighboring apartment (or one of the communal dumpsters, for all I know, since they were always overflowing with trash). Luckily I never saw another one but it definitely made me paranoid for the rest of my time there.
They hit you with ridiculous fees upon move out. They charged us a $110 "cleaning fee" after we meticulously spent two days cleaning the apartment. When I tried to dispute this, they told me too bad and that the company they contract with charges the same flat fee whether they do the smallest amount of cleaning or a lot of cleaning. So, basically, if you do move in, don't bother cleaning your apartment when you go since you'll have to pay either way.
They also charged us ~$800 to repair a small patch of carpet that was torn up by my cat. I also tried to dispute this charge as excessive and was given the same answer: too bad, deal with it. After reading multiple other negative reviews of them, it seems they do this to a lot of their tenants.
Overall, I would not recommend Avalon at all.
Multiple car break in's during the summer and they have a lot of hidden fee's they add on to rent. Also, when you move out be prepared to fork up $1,100 to replace the carpet. Even if there are no stains. Customer service is friendly-but in this business you have to be.
Quite, safe and like the place. Rental office people are very accomodating
Is a nice, quiet, great neighbors, the community is well maintained with nice apartments and the management people is awesome.
i love the apartment itself, but not the lack of parking space
