Baltimore City Community College, founded in 1947, has more enrolled undergraduate students than any other college or university in all of Maryland. BCCC offers two main campuses and 88 off-site locations for students to pursue education in 34 different associate degree programs, making it easy to find a college apartment in downtown Baltimore or anywhere around the county.
Students can pursue degrees in nursing, teaching, construction, bioscience, information technology and law enforcement at BCCC. The school also offers a number of courses for continuing education students. Athletic types will love the school's sports programs, which include basketball, cross country, tennis and volleyball. The BCCC Panthers are competitive and even made it to the 2012 NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament. Students who enjoy attending sporting events will surely be captivated by the school's talented basketball team.
The main campus is in the heart of Baltimore, giving students plenty of options to find university housing right in the city. Living in downtown Baltimore is ideal for students who enjoy urban life, and the BCCC campus is located right near the harbor. The city offers many museums and parks, and the Baltimore Aquarium is just a few blocks away from the downtown BCCC campus.
Students who prefer a more rural setting can find university housing closer to one of the remote campus locations in outlying Catonsville, Dundalk and other Baltimore suburbs, and commute in for classes on one of the many public buses. No BCCC campus is more than an hour from downtown, so students can enjoy living in a peaceful setting but easily head into the city for a night on the town.
