City Heights Steeplechase

I lived there and my parents live there several years ago and I found it was an awesome place to live. Hopefully I will be able to move in there again soon

I love City Heights Steeplechase, the office staff and maintenance crew are definitely the best I have ever experienced. The location is great and the property is well kept. The price is unbeatable for the area.

The office staff is very polite and responsive. The maintenance staff rocks, they handle all issues in a timely and professional manner, not to mention the grounds always look beautiful. I highly recommend this complex.

Steeplechase was great when I moved in, with kind caring, personable management. In two and a half years, the management team has changed three or four times, and we've also changed owners. All for the worse. - But, when you need a repair, pest control, etc., the maintenance folk come quickly and can get the job done. Very responsive in that regard. - The fitness room is defunct. (It is now an ancient elliptical and an even older treadmill.) - The condition of the apartments is generally very nice. Nothing is obviously broken, they paint before you arrive, etc. But don't expect a good paint job. And don't expect them to have replaced all of the quarter-round trim at the floorboard. The kitchen cabinets are older than I am. The flooring is coming up in spots and wasn't completed near the doors. - Nobody picks up their dog poop. And you do pick up your dog's poop? Well, even though it is obviously the tenet in apt X-XX, you, yes, you, are going to be blamed and receive phone calls and emails about how you never pick up your dog's poop. - Drunk girls like to scream and go swimming at night. (But only two, so that's good.) - Neighbors are, generally, not friendly. At all. Luckily, though, all of my neighbors are quiet for the most part. - Bugs. In your apartment. Because the ants cannot be controlled. -Laundry machines are teeny-tiny and way too expensive. -Inappropriate emails. I have it set so that I receive the fewest amount of emails from Steeplechase, and I still get too many. This is because management does not know that they can email individual lessees individually. Plus, they are all worded very unprofessionally and severely need to be proof-read. - I don't regret living here, and I will probably live here for a fourth year before I move out of the city, but I wish that things were as good as they were when I moved in. - Compared to other places: prettier, cleaner, larger, treated worse, less professional, more pests.

City Heights Steeplechase apartments is a great place to call home. The grounds are kept clean, it's safe, and quiet. Management is friendly and always willing to address any issues you may have. Pest control does an excellent job at keeping apartments bug free. You are close to shopping, there are busses close by, just very convenient. The apartments are bright and cheery. I would recommend calling this place home

Ms Megan wa extremely helpful in getting us placed in a apartment. The place I well kept up an was very clean. The community is very nice and we have very bic neighbors. It s a very nice pace to live and would definitely recommend the to people looking for affordable housing

I can understand the negative reviews regarding communication. However, once I became a resident, communication improved 100 percent by texting the resident number. Maintenance come asap when there is a problem. The complex is very clean and quiet as well! I enjoyed my stay these past few years, no complaints what so ever. Also, never had issues with bugs , pest control always come so that is not a problem either!

I don't quite understand recent bad reviews because we have had an awesome time living here. Its quiet, but some residents do leave trash outside of the dumpster- however maintenance picks it up ASAP and its never really an issue. I've always had amazing experiences with management even after moving here. I have called to not have the phone answered, but a quick text message or trip to the office usually gets me an answer. You're not gonna find a better deal for this much space in Lafayette. **Edit 5/22 - I've just renewed my lease after an awesome year of living here. Months have passed since my review and things are just as great. Maintenance typically happens within 24 hours of a claim, rent is still a great deal, and I've only seen one bug in my apartment since our entire time here (it was a little house spider by my window). The negative reviews regarding communication have to be just doing just wrong, because residents are given a convenient text message service where you can ask anything and get an answer within 24 hours. I've never had an issue finding someone in the office, and they're always putting on little events and things for residents. One thing that may be a con for some but doesnt affect me personally- The pool is only open through Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and it's a little small for the size of the complex. But hey- we're getting new gym equipment soon!
