The location is great for UK students, however that is about the only good thing about UV. The rent is quite high and they charge a pet fee when you move in ($250) in addition to $25/month for "pet rent" and there is dog poop everywhere and hardly anyone walks their dogs on leashes. The office staff is rude and not very helpful. The apartments are poorly insulated leading to extremely expensive utility bills. In addition to rent you are responsible for utilities, water (which you never really know how much it is), and wifi. They have free internet but then you have to deal with TWC/Spectrum to send a modem and set up WIFI which is never an easy thing. The apartment is right next to a train track which runs all the time, especially at night and is very loud. The costs of living here per month in a 2 BR apartment (only paying one person's part) averages out to more than $675. It is NOT worth it! In addition to price, safety is an issue: both, mine and my roommate's cars have been broken into. Also, there is barely any guest parking (but tons of resident parking). I know this is one of the cheaper options to living close to campus but it is not worth it.

This place is truly awful. I moved in to a newly renovated apartment (which cost way more) and loved it for the first few months. After that the apartment started basically falling apart. The kid that does maintenance there was completely clueless so nothing ever stayed fixed for long (if he even bothered to fix it at all). Worst of all the office staff are the most rude people I've ever dealt with. Many times I heard them talking about other residents who had complained about something which is totally unprofessional. If you come in to ask them a question don't expect anything more than a short answer and an eye roll from these people. Unless you're a potential future resident, they don't care. Heather is the worst, don't bother going in if she's there--she'll just scowl at you like like your existence is an inconvenience to her. The only one worse than her is the manager, Jason, who has a snarky response to even a simple question. Unless you like rude people and molding walls, go live anywhere else.
