All About

Living in Bellarmine University, KY

Bellarmine University, founded in 1950, is one of the top colleges in the South. U.S. News and World Report ranks this Catholic institution number 14 among Southern universities. Bellarmine students can choose from more than 50 undergraduate degree programs and those seeking to further their educations can pursue master's and doctoral degrees at this college as well. The main campus is located just outside the city of Louisville, giving students access to the exciting urban community while still providing a peaceful and rural atmosphere where students can study and grow.

With an annual enrollment of more than 3,200 students, Bellarmine can keep classes small. The school boasts an average class size of 21 and there is a student to faculty ratio of 13 to one, so individuals will be able to form meaningful relationships with their peers and professors. The college offerings are wrapped in Catholic tradition and values, but students of all faiths and backgrounds are welcomed at Bellarmine. Popular major choices include Nursing, Business Administration, Biology and Education. When students are not in class or studying in their college apartments, they can join campus clubs and organizations or go to a game and cheer on any of the 19 sports team. The college participates in NCAA Division II for most sports, and the lacrosse team competes at a Division I level, so students will be in for exciting, fast-paced games.

When it comes to housing, Bellarmine offers on campus student living, but the urban area makes it easy for those who want to forego this option can seek off campus apartments in downtown Louisville. The metropolitan area is home to a number of schools so student housing is abundant.
