Management is super helpful and nice. The maintenance is also great. I rarely have any issues with my apartment. My neighbors and the people who live here are respectful and quiet. Awesome place to live.
Like most residents of Pinegate West, I love living here. The grounds are kept up nicely, the office and maintenance staff are always pleasant and, I believe, do their best to accommodate reasonable requests. That no one lives above or beneath any apartment, that we can have garage parking, and are allowed to have pets are real bonuses The reason I checked average for recreational amenities is because I think that the clubhouse is for the convenience of the staff more than for the residents.
My dad moved in April 2000. He passed away in July 2000. My brother and I came in to the office the day he passed to let the manager know. She was nothing but rude to us and visibly see how a mess we were. She told us there is not a death clause and we would have to give a 30 day notice and pay august rent. There was no money. The man had just passed and lived a very tight budget month to month. Then we get a letter saying he owes more money after we moved his things out. And that they would turn him over to collections. This place is a joke. We did not get his deposit back which is whatever. We don't care. But the way we were treated was awful. 2 kids lost their dad and had to figure out how to take care of all his stuff. And this place did not help.
I absolutely LOVED living at Pinegate West and actually regret leaving. I initially left because I wanted a place closer to work in KCMO but I have to say Pinegate was the best apartment I've ever lived in. Pinegate has such a homey feel - the apartment was bright, clean, and everything worked seamlessly. Anytime, and I mean anytime, I needed something from maintenance they came either the same day or the next day and fixed/replaced whatever needed to be without any hassle. The leasing office was always kind and helpful, even after I moved out they still looked out for really important mail I had coming in. I will definitely consider moving back here once my current lease ends.

- The pricing for a 2 bedroom right now is exactly what I pay now at my apartment right by the plaza... but considering the peace of mind you have there, it's worth the extra uber money to get to the plaza.
I lived at Pinegate West for over two years. When it came time for me to move elsewhere, the management gouged my money and lied to me! Their only concern was with profiting from me, the renter, who had to break the lease agreement now or relocate in the middle of winter to avoid their huge monthly lease fees!
FYI: If you break their lease, you pay an additional two months rent after vacating.
I left the unit in extremely clean condition. I spent a lot of time, money and effort cleaning it according to their lease agreement. The carpets were covered by area rugs in all rooms and my dog never had any accidents in the unit on their linoleum areas or my area rugs. I paid a $300 non-refundable pet fee deposit upon signing their lease in addition to another deposit amount of $350 to be refunded to me upon vacating the apartment.
Watch out! Management will take advantage of you!
I was informed by mail with a $90 reduction of the owed deposit, $350, that the carpet had required cleaning. I was only given $260 after paying a total of $650 in deposit money!
I was taken advantage of!
I think it was a lie!
I do not believe management and think the invoice copy of the cleaning bill sent to me was not truthful! The dog was never on much of their wrinkled, well-worn brown carpet! In addition, it was obvious when the area rug was removed that the carpet was in need of being stretched and replaced. In fact, I now think they probably have had to replace it before renting it to another person that will end up being taken advantage of in the unit!
They were quick to respond to repair services only if it benefitted their property value/bottom dollar. Read the following:
There was a smoke alarm battery for them to change as it was making noise in the unit.The lease specifies this as their responsibility. While I contacted management before noon, they did not service the unit until the following day!
