Grand View University, founded in 1896, provides students with the opportunity to explore more than 38 undergraduate majors in a liberal arts setting. The nonprofit college is affiliated with the Lutheran church, and both of its campuses are located in Des Moines. The urban setting gives students plenty of options when it comes to student housing.
Grand View's mission is to assist students in finding careers in their fields after graduation, and the university has strong connections with many different businesses and organizations in the Des Moines region. Nearly all Grand View students find work or continue their education upon completion of their Bachelor's degrees. Some students may not even need to move out of their off campus housing if they plan to find work in Des Moines. When it comes to free time, Des Moines offers plenty for students to do, including the Blank Park Zoo in the southern area of the city.
