The Village at Westchester

Easily the worst place I have ever lived. My husband and I could never get ahold of the management and when we did, it was always because we sat by the office door for HOURS waiting for someone to show up for a scheduled appointment. We moved in to a unit that was not ready for people to move in. They claimed they inspected it before we moved in however the singular kitchen drawer had used fake fingernails in it. I stepped on 20+ nails and screws and they did nothing about it. There was a hole in the bathroom wall which they tried to make us pay for after we moved out. Our mailbox was off the hinges and not usable for the first 4 months of us living there. We dealt with black mold in our unit for 6+ months due to them not coming to fix their problem, and them continuously cancelling our maintenance requests. We tried to contact them through maintenance requests, emails, phone calls, you name it, and we heard absolutely nothing. Toward the end of our stay there, we contacted them about how to turn in our keys and we heard nothing. A few weeks after our move out, we get notified that we are being charge over $700 because of the inspection they did. We told them that they were unfair charges as we know we left the place better than we found it. With us sending that message, they reduced what we owed them by nearly $400, meaning they over charge people and take peoples money because they know some people wont think twice and just pay it all. We were also being charged for holes in the wall that maintenance put in and never came back to fix. We are extremely disappointed with this company and will never ever recommend elevate living and more specifically village at westchester. Dont waste your time, pay the extra $200 to go to a better place. This place is not worth messing up your mental health over.

Dirty and smelly place, people smoke inside the building, and when I moved the charge me for things that already mess up on the apartment. I dont recommend moving there.

They dont fix the big problems we have. They dont keep promises. We keep our place clean, and we have 3 kids. spikes are under floor in carpet. they womt fix after they said they would. The stucture is falling apart. ceilings are cracked. No lighting in living rooms or bedrooms. I cant afford to move right now but when lease is up. Im expecting to move asap. Noisy neighbors.
