First the good: the apartments are aesthetically pleasing inside. Things look nice and modern. The apartments are furnished, but their furniture isn't very good, unless you like hard, small leather couches. The gym is nice, there is a pool. They have the option to pay a fee to include utilities, rather than go through Duke Energy.
The rest: the office isn't very helpful. They rarely reply to emails. The wifi has been down for about a month, and no one has done anything about it. I've contacted the internet company directly since the office hasn't fixed it, and every time, they say "there's already a tech on site". They keep posting notes on doors saying maintenance needs to come in, during a broad time slot, so if you walk around naked don't get comfortable that day. Maintenance requests take time to be taken care of. The water here is hard and leaves residue. Parking is a journey for guests if you aren't residing near the lot. And they tow religiously. Their online rent payment system is a hassle. They lost one of my payments and claimed i was late/underpaid on rent. I contacted them several times by phone and email (to no avail) and came into the office a couple times to have them fix the issue. I kept screenshots and bank statements of the payment and showed them. They said they would figure it out. Days passed and nothing. I had my bank cancel the payment. I now do money orders (because they don't cash your rent checks for a while), and take pictures of all payments. I try not to go into the office because it's always a waste of time. There was one person that was actually attentive and tried to help, even though the situation wasn't handled. Most of the other staff have been unhelpful and unfriendly. They change staff a lot though.
I could probably say more, but this is enough. If you're looking for somewhere cheap and don't care about quality customer service, go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
They take checks for your rent but won't cash them for 2-3 weeks and tell you that it "depends on the bank." It takes 24 hours for a check to go through and is beyond unprofessional to have a $400+ check floating around not cashed for multiple weeks.
Some of the office staff are really good and others just seem apathetic, depends on who is working that day. Turnover seems to happen quite a bit so if you are trying to get a lease signed your information could just end up getting lost from one person to the next. When you go to move in, this ends up with them asking you for all of the paperwork you submitted a month or so prior.
I lived in a fraternity house with awful Wi-Fi that somehow was better than the WiFi here.
If you're willing to deal with the inconveniences it's a nice living space for the price (all inclusive amenity fee is great) and is as close to campus as you're going to get for this price and it still qualifies for C passes too.
Staff constanty bothers you, they have walked in multiple times without knocking with the excuse they thought the unit was unoccupied. They offer Internet... If its ever working and when it is working its running at about 200k, very slow speeds. The office is unorganized, if you ever want answers skip the office. Maintenance knows more about what goes on in the office than the personnel that work in it. I have lived all over the world this is by far the most inconvenient place I have ever lived, stay away at all costs.
The awesome amenities are great for the value and the staff is extremely helpful!
I've lived here 3 years and love it. I live in the platinum Apartment and they're lovely . It also is a great value, safe, awesome state of the art exercise facility here , next to a beautiful nature preserve , and to many other reasons to name.
