The University of Southern Indiana, established in 1965, is a relatively new school, but this four-year institution offers a strong academic program, with 70 undergraduate degree programs, 10 master's programs and a doctoral track as well. Popular major choices for undergrads include Business, Health Professions, Education, Communications, Journalism and Social Sciences. The school has an annual enrollment of nearly 10,000 students, so classes are a bit larger than many other colleges. However, USI still manages to keep them pretty small, and an 18 to one student to teacher ratio gives students a chance to get personalized attention from their professors.
