All about

University of Southern Indiana, IN

The University of Southern Indiana, established in 1965, is a relatively new school, but this four-year institution offers a strong academic program, with 70 undergraduate degree programs, 10 master's programs and a doctoral track as well. Popular major choices for undergrads include Business, Health Professions, Education, Communications, Journalism and Social Sciences. The school has an annual enrollment of nearly 10,000 students, so classes are a bit larger than many other colleges. However, USI still manages to keep them pretty small, and an 18 to one student to teacher ratio gives students a chance to get personalized attention from their professors.

Located just outside Evansville, Indiana, the college boasts a 1,400-acre campus that includes a lake and a number of trails for students to explore. There is plenty of parking for students who live in off campus housing, and approximately 71 percent of USI enrollees opt to find a college apartment in nearby Evansville. A student living off campus still has plenty of opportunities to meet other USI enrollees and make new friends, as the college offers many different student organizations and clubs. The USI Screaming Eagles athletic teams compete in NCAA Division II games, so students can attend exciting games all year long.

Evansville offers plenty for students to do when they're not studying or attending classes. They can explore the Burdette Park and Aquatic Center, see exotic animals at the Mesker Park Zoo, or check out one of the many museums Evansville has to offer. The college is close by to St. Louis, Louisville and Indianapolis, making these destinations easily accessible for a day trip or a weekend getaway.
