Marian University, IN

Marian University, a small private institution located in the heart of Indianapolis, one of America's largest cities, provides students with a solid liberal arts education that is grounded in Catholic principles. Each year, about 2,000 individuals find a home in student housing in one of the city's vibrant neighborhoods. Since its founding in 1936, MU has earned a reputation for offering a high-quality education and personalized attention.

The school's Nursing program is its most renowned academic offering. About 35 percent of students at MU are enrolled in this program. The School of Nursing offers a number of options to help individuals earn a BSN in the field, which is quickly becoming one of the most highly sough after certifications. New high school graduates can take the traditional four-year path to their degree, but there are also programs for individuals who previously earned an RN and an accelerated section, which enables students to complete their degree in less time. Being a Catholic-affiliated university, MU also offers a number of faith-based programs, including Pastoral Leadership, Religious Education and Theology.

The city of Indianapolis is an attractive area for students. About 68 percent of enrollees at the school decide to live in off campus apartments. Given the fact that the campus is located just 10 miles outside of downtown Indianapolis, there are a number of student apartments available that fit needs of MU attendees. The neighborhoods of Cheswick and Wildwood put students in close proximity to the campus, while Highland Vicinity is a more urban area closer to downtown. Regardless of where individuals seek off campus housing, the city's public transportation system makes getting to campus easy.
