After accepting a new job in Kokomo, I moved into the Lofts at Union Street. Lived there a year and chose to move out. Very disappointed living experience and its not worth the high price tag!
The appliances are stainless steel BUT are very low endthe oven IS NOT even self-clean. The building is a public garage and IS NOT SECURED. The apartment units are located on the 5th floor. To access the 5th floor, a key FOB is required but there has been occasion when lock was broke and access wasnt secure.
It took property management over a week to fix lock.
The trash room is located on the 4th floor and isnt secured/locked. Tenants pay separately for trash yet non-residents have repeatedly used the trash room.
My unit had significant water issues due to improperly installed outside patio drain that damaged and caused mold and rot to floor and ceiling. The place is riddled with poor construction issues that has resulted in constant water problems and mold. As I was moving out, water damage has occurred in another section in the hallway where once again sections have been removed from the ceiling.
Constant FALSE fire alarm evacuations especially in the middle of the night when we are forced to walk down the 5 flight of stairs in our pajamas into the cold temperatures waiting to get the all clear to reenter our units. Non-residents loiter, smoke, litter in the parking garages stairwells, urinate in the elevator and dedicated parking spots. These are the same elevator used by paying tenants. The dedicated garage parking is located on the 4th floor and are just an assigned parking spot. There is no security or cameras whatsoever!
Property Management takes no responsibility and will instruct tenants to contact the city even though tenants do not pay their rent to the city.
Most tenants living there are short term (less than 2 years) so I strongly do not recommend these apartments especially if you are seeking long term as they do not offer the value and security
