LUX On Capitol an upscale 196-unit, 672-bed community, located on the corner of Capitol and Michigan in downtown Indianapolis. Lux on Capitol offers individual leasing, therefore the rates you see are per bedroom. The complex, which includes two buildings ranging from five to eleven stories, offers studio, one, two, three and four bedroom, fully furnished apartments. It boast 3,100 square-feet of retail space and luxury amenities including a five-level parking garage, a resort-style pool with water volleyball and an outdoor courtyard with a basketball court and grilling stations. Residents have access to a 5,196 square-foot club house which will include a fitness center, free tanning, a computer cafe and gaming stations.
Management will lie to your face, has zero actual care for the people in the apartment and only wants to make it look like they do. Room quality is awful. The counters are splattered with paint, multiple drawers have broken after a year, my roommate had mold in the bathroom 3 months after it opened, trash chute always broken, gym floor is already tearing up after 14 months of being open, the list goes on and on. They have an email/text system set up and it works like 50% of the time, so when everyone was supposed to get new parking passes, it didn't work for a lot of us and so we didnt know to get a new sticker. A bunch of people's cars got towed (EVEN THOUGH WE WERE PAYING FOR PARKING) because we had last years sticker on, so we're all out ~400 dollars because they didn't care enough to simply come up to the room, leave a message, etc. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. DO NOT RENT HERE.
Terrible place to live! Expensive rent for a cheaply made apartment with constant issues the only perk is the view.
Lux on Capitol has a lot they need to work on, and to be completely honest the Apartment complex is a joke. This was a brand new apartment in Fall of 2017 and on move in day I already had scuffs on the walls of my bedroom, as well as many other things within the apartment that were not done right. The parking is absolutely outrageous and the visitor parking is a horrendous. On top of that, trash chutes are constantly not working and they expect for us to walk to either the other side of the complex or take it down to the main floor. The other super frustrating thing is their roommate match system, I moved in with 2 friends and the person they matched us up with is terrible. I don't think they even looked at the papers we filled out for the type of roommate we wouldn't mind living with! To tie things together, this place is just poorly ran by people who truly just don't know what they are doing.
Lux is a nightmare. Rent is way too high for the low quality of the apartment's interiors. When I first moved in, there were so many problems with my apartment (drawers were all broken, scuffs/paint chipping on the walls, wifi didn't work, washing machine was broken + more). Yesterday the building flooded and people's cars got completely submerged in water ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Wifi is ALWAYS down. We just went a few days without internet service recently. Staff are all 20-somethings, even the manager is in her 20's. They will also milk you of your money. They tried to charge me $50 because I left a trash bag under the trash chute because it was broken for over 2 weeks. Just the worst place to live and I definitely wouldn't recommend it especially not for a college student who is stressed as is.
This place is really nice with great city views. Relatively quiet with pool and workout facility. However, the only downside to the place is the staff that I've encountered. I've found the majority of the front office to be uninformed, less than helpful and have come across as rude on multiple encounters. My roommates and neighbors have had similar encounters too. I have never been greeted with a smile or felt welcomed to be a resident.
