I've lived here for almost a year now and will be renewing my lease soon. I am so pleased with my home, with the grounds and the staff. My apartment is pretty and cozy and the utility prices are very reasonable, we have had only the smallest issues and those were resolved very quickly. The grounds are perfect for those with dogs to walk and it really is a nice looking, park-like atmosphere. I don't participate much in community activities, but knowing they're in place is reassuring. I find the office staff friendly and they've been very friendly to me. I will keep renewing my lease, as BGV makes me happy and feels like home to me. -Amanda O.
The apartments look rather decent from the outside and I was only a potentional resident, but the office staff resulted in me avoiding the complex all together. I came in and expressed my concerns of another apartment complex showing me a beautiful model, trying to give me something completely different, then taking all my money I put down to save it. Then, I explained why I wanted to see an apartment before putting hundreds of more dollars down. Anyways, they were just not intrigued or concerned at all. I offered alternatives, such a view a unit between moves, just take a tour through the walkways of units, I mean really anything. This older women said no to all almost immediately, said there wouldnt be anything for months, wrote down how much money I would owe to just secure a unit, and stated I better hurry up because they are always on a waitlist.... Thank you, but no thank you. I even remained interested in these apartments over the next couple months, because of their prices. I figured I could get over the leasing office workers. No, I called months later to inquire about a one bedroom, such as amenities, utilities, rent, etc. another women told me nothing was available for months and there was nothing she could do... I was only inquiring, but okay I suppose. The place could be a mansion and I still wouldnt pay rent because of the leasing office women.
Ever since I moved in theres been nothing but problems. Was not given notice they were repaving so my car was towed and a parking pass means nothing because if another resident complains your parking in their area they will still have you towed.
My little section is great. I actually talk with my neighbors and feel safe and secure. The apartment is nice for the price. New appliances, my choice of painted accent walls, good amount of closet space. The pantry is a bit awkward and it's difficult to have much more than one person in the kitchen at a time. I'm a single parent with one child, so it's ideal for us. But a bigger family would have difficulties I would imagine.
Overall it's just ok, but I have had so many plumbing issues it's ridiculous stuff is always breaking down, and my shower doesn't even work, and maintenence can't seem to fix the problem. My air conditioner went out several times over the summer and we were left in the heat during 90 degree weather not fun! Also, the pool wasn't even open most of the summer it seemed as they kept having problems with the chemicals. I will definitely be moving when my lease is up.
