Living in Carmel, IN
When you think of renting an apartment in Carmel, Indiana, you might not think that this city with a population of 64,400 people in 2009 would offer much in the way of arts and entertainment, but it does. We'll cover just a few of the many ways Carmel residents have fun and celebrate the arts in their (and possibly soon to be your) hometown.
If you are an artist or an art enthusiast, consider apartments near the Arts and Design District in Old Town Carmel. You'll find art galleries, interior design shops, specialty stores, unique restaurants and more in this art lovers' community. The popular Carmel International Arts Festival showcasing more than 150 artists is held in the Arts and Design District, as well as other events, such as Rock the District, Art of Wine, Artomobilia, Holiday in the Arts District, Jazz on the Monon and more. You can also attend an evening art gallery walk in the neighborhood at various times throughout the year.
The Arts and Design District isn't the only part of town that hosts exciting events near Carmel apartments. On the Fourth of July, head to the Carmel Civic Center for Carmelfest, which features food, games, music and of course, fireworks. The Summer Family Concert Series at the Gazebo in Carmel Fountain Square presents a diverse line up of musicians performing rhythm and blues, rock and roll, jazz, pop, bluegrass, country, 50's doo wop and other types of music.
Kids residing in Carmel apartments can also participate directly in the arts through the Children's Art Gallery. Each month, children from a different Carmel school display their artwork here.
