*All prices are per bedroom.... The Village at Muller Park is a townhouse and apartment community located minutes from campus, offering huge floorplans and luxurious features. Choose from unbelievable floorplans! We offer two and four bedroom townhomes, as well as, one, two three, and four bedroom apartments. We have something for everyone. You'll love the oversized closets (so big that it's easy to tidy up at the last minute) and sparkling pool with sundeck (for a relaxing retreat from that paper you should be working on). Prices listed are per bedroom.
Living at The Village is truly my home away from home. I love my two-bedroom townhouse. It is so spacious and I have my own walk-in closet! The staff are amazing with answering my questions & completing any maintenance requests. And I LOVE the new shuttle bus! I don't have a parking pass so the ability to ride the shuttle to and from campus is so great!
I love living at The Village! It is so nice having a gym that's available 24/7. Also, the pool is my favorite amenity that they offer, especially during the summer! The shuttle is super convenient to use to get o and from campus. Not to mention, the staff has been nothing but helpful since I've moved in. Definitely would recommend anyone to live here!
As far as housing for this semester I couldnt have asked for a better place! The gym alone was enough to get me to renew, compared to other complexes The Village blows them out of the water! The study area was great when I used it, and the actual size of the apartments compared to what you pay is incredible. I can get everywhere that I need to in Bloomington within 10 minutes, Im within a mile from like 4 different grocery stores, the better of the 2 movie theaters in Blooming ton (trust me, I have been to both) is close enough I could walk to it if I wanted it. On top of all of that, The Village sits right over a hill and is kind of secluded from 3rd street, so you have a very cool community feel when you are on property! I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a great deal on living expenses!
If you're thinking about living at the Village at Muller Park, don't. They charge an absurd amount of rent for a complex that's so far from campus, and the price increases each year. They advertise a shuttle service, but it's inconsistent, the drivers are rude, and in the middle of the summer they just stopped running it. They do not care about their residents and only care about making money. Upon moving out, we were charged for LIGHT BULBS. We apparently had 3 light bulbs out in our 4-bedroom townhouse, and were charged for that, even though we replaced our own light bulbs the two years that we lived there. The parking lot isn't well lit, so be concerned about safety. They switched the way electricity was handled twice in the two years that we lived there. The last way ended up with a third party company charging us for two months electricity at a time, with a handling fee every single time, as opposed to just paying Duke ourselves and not having to go through the Village. Again, their main concern is making money and that is it. They do not care about the residents, and I do not recommend that anybody live there. Additionally, we had numerous issues when we moved in where they changed which building we were in, even though one of the perks of us signing as early as we did was that we got to pick our building. To resolve this, the manager at the time offered myself and my three roommates free reserved parking (normally $25/month). He was fired, and when I asked the next management company about it, they told us we had to provide proof. I sent them proof that he had offered it (texts and emails from the former manager promising it) and they never responded to me, even when I followed up. In the two years that I lived at the Village, they had 3-4 different management companies, each one worse than the last. There are much cheaper and better options closer to campus with management that actually cares about the people who live there.
The layout of the apartments is the only excellent thing about the Village. Do not be fooled by the tour of the apartment complex. The model apartments are nothing like what you actually receive. The apartments were absolutely filthy and one of my roommates found a knife and plate under her mattress. As for the shuttles, they only run every 45 minutes (not every 15 as advertised) and are almost always full. My roommates had to buy parking passes due to the unreliability of the Village shuttles. We all regretted living here after only one week.
