I've been so disappointed by all the landscaping gut that's taken place lately --- No more birds chattering in the morning. Rocks everywhere. It's starting to feel not at all like a park anymore. I realize that efficiencies must be made, but there's been a cost.
Decent quality apartments for the price, and overall managed well
After management changes in the past years, Meadow Park apartments has went from a good value community to over priced. The last two years alone the rent has raised approximately $30 each year with little improvement to the actual living spaces. Some of the "upgrades" are new rented washers and dryers (problematic card charges and faulty equipment), new doors, windows and ugly landscaping. The actual apartment is still very stuck in the seventies with old non-energy efficient appliances, heat inefficient, propensity for mold and old decor. Maintenance is usually fast to respond but are careless at times with their repairs and cleanliness. Management makes the appearance that the want to community maintained, but never dispute with individuals on the property that make this community filthy with their cigarettes and trash littering the property. Certain areas of the property are ignored on ocassion in regards to upkeep, like removing leaves and salting, which is a hazard to the residents. The gym is hardly restocked with the proper cleaning supplies to keep the area sanitary and the common areas are filthy (laundry areas dirty with animal fur, incidents with feces on the floor from residents that also bring their animals all over without a leash and trash in the appliances). The community has discontinued incentives from previous years like recycling and young professional discounts. It is a nicer area in Bloomington to live location wise, but it is a shame that it is no longer a good value like it used to be.
I have lived here at Meadow Park multiple times for a number of years combined (6 years or so). I have had a lot of ups and downs depending on the unit and more! Overall, I love the complex and that is why I choose to live here each year. The maintenance staff can be underwhelming and even shifty at times. We have also been flagged as being late with rent when, in actuality, we never have been. We have never received a penalty after investigation, but it is still upsetting to be flagged by accident. Adds a lot of stress in the interim before things can get sorted out. On the plus side, communication is generally great, and most office workers that I have ever encountered are very pleasant and accomodating. We also have had great understanding with management for severe issues in a past unit. The price is a bit steep for the size of the units, but so far my pros outweigh my cons. Thanks for the continued service, Meadow Park.
One of my favorite things about living here is that it's quiet here. I also like having my own outside door, as opposed to living in a hallway. The buildings themselves are old but any time something goes wrong, maintainence has always shown up that same day and they also follow up afterwards.
