Campus Walk staff have always been attentive and caring about my needs as a renter. The folks in the office treat you like you're part of a larger, extended family. Moreover, I have thoroughly enjoyed living in my apartment, and when a couple of minor things came up, maintenance was able to rectify the issues promptly and completely. I would recommend Campus Walk to anyone.
Campus Walk is a shining star among places to live in Bloomington. With the few problems I have faced with my apartment, everything was addressed immediately. I am beyond pleased with my decision to live at a Campus Walk complex for the past couple years.
The skinny: I stayed with them over the 2017-18 school year. This company caused me more trouble than they were worth. I got back less than half of my security deposit despite returning my apartment in much better condition than it was given to me in. I had neighbors with similar issues with this leasing company. They prey on college kids.
The not-so-skinny: Of the three companies Ive leased through while living in Bloomington, Campus Walk (CRE Rentals) is easily the worst. Over the year I spent with them there were too many issues to possibly remember, but for the purpose of this review Ill include everything I can fit into the 2000 character limit. I stayed at Beaux Trace, located 420 S Grant St.
I was shown a relatively clean apartment with a downtown view. This seemed enticing enough for me to want to sign a lease. I came back to their office later that day to hear that there had been a rush of signings, and that Id have to take a replacement that was at a different address, but with the same floor plan and amenities. I was presented with paperwork to see the new apartment without ever having a chance to see it. The equivalent apartment was disgusting. The laundry list of issues I experienced here were frequent and always came with a slow repair job. Oftentimes the maintenance I received caused new problems and/or damage to my personal belongings.
Late fees- Where every company I've dealt with in the past waits until the 5th business day of the month to begin charging late fees, this is not the case at CRE. They charge $5 daily from the 2nd forward. This might seem small but across their whole client base I'm sure they clean up nicely.
Security deposit- I was given a dirty apartment and returned a clean one. I lost over half of my deposit. Neighbors of mine had the same issue at a house they rented through CRE.
The office staff is unfriendly once you sign your lease. They nickel and dime me at every opportunity. They were rude to my parents.
The apartment was comfortable and had a decent amount of space and amenities for a reasonable rent.
Fast maintenance and close to campus.
