Im am 63 years old and have lived in many different places. The single worst mistake I ever made was moving here. This is by far the worst place you could possibly live. Dont do it, this place is REALLY bad.

I wanted to wait until I moved out of here to write a review, but this place has pushed me too far. I don't know what else to do but to make sure that no one else moves in here without knowing what they're walking into.

I would say I was happy living here for the first month or so. Great location, affordable rent, and the apartment was a decent size. Things have just gone downhill since then. Let me just briefly list the issues I've faced in living here for the past six months.

There are huge roaches. If you walk down the first-floor hallway (which you have to go down to do laundry) you will likely see 5-10 dead roaches. Sometimes they pile up even worse, because the halls are rarely cleaned. We live on the third floor and have found one live roach in our kitchen. We also had our flooring replaced in our bathroom and saw that there were about 20 dead roaches under our sink vanity. We get bites in the middle of the night, like mosquito bites but bigger. The exterminators confirmed we don't have bed bugs, but that these could be roach bites. Roach bites are rare, and only happen when there is overcrowding, like in our building.

Maintenance is hit or miss. I've had them come in and fix things right away. I've also had to wait a long time or repeatedly request for them to come back because they didn't fix things right the first time. One time I had to call the health inspector because sewage had leaked from our toilet under the bathroom floor and they refused to fix the flooring. The health inspector ordered them to fix it within a month. He also told us that he'd be getting to know the head of maintenance a lot better because he'd been getting a lot of complaints lately. They eventually fixed our flooring, and we saw that there was black mold on the underside of the old flooring they were carrying out from all the moisture that had been trapped underneath.

These are not all of the issues I've encountered. Just the ones that have angered me most.

The Preserve at woodfield have been Fine and been in violation from the Code Inforcer Apartment Inspector, LOTS of roaches BIG Roaches, hallway dirty and smelly, laundry room dirty. Always changing the Lease in the middle of the year. They charge you for any little thing like light bulbs $10.00 for one bulb. Office staff rude and don't know what they are doing. Lots of residents have complain to the inspector about this place and they don't fix nothing only want money. Stay Away from this place. Moving out in
August 2018 I had enough of these people!

Moved in over 4 years ago. Endured the previous management team. The new team came in and are unorganized. Told them the first month they didnt charge me enough. 2 weeks after paying rent I get a notice on my door threatening to start eviction if we didnt pay in 24 hours the $30+ I told them about. Now see additional charges for pest control on my bill and they are still trying to sinc rent and trash and sewer into one payment.
My contact says I can have a gas grill. Now threats of a lease violation charge if its not gone by Monday 26 feb 2018. Today is Friday 23 feb 2018.
Lease changes with no discussion or opertunity to discuss and I didnt sign a new lease.
Can hear everything that happens in the apartment below us.
Had bees coming inside apartment all last summer. Multiple times we called in work orders.
I would NOT recommend anyone move in here. Moving out in June. Had enough

Grounds and buildings aren't in the best condition. Grass is torn up from maintenance driving the golf carts in the grass and not on the sidewalks, lots of trash in the common areas/grass and cigarette butts on the ground near building entrances, mud caked on exterior door handles, multiple gum spots in the corridors and on entrance rugs. Need more dog stations around complex. Trash is always overflowing. Office hours aren't good for people that commute into Chicago during the week
