Located in the city of Naperville's beautiful residential historic district, North Central College is considered to be one of the best liberal arts schools in the Midwest catering to students from various backgrounds and stages of life. In 2010, U.S. News & World Report ranked North Central College as one of its top 20 "Regional Universities (Midwest)."
North Central College was originally founded in 1861 as Plainfield College in Plainfield, Illinois. However, several years later, the school was moved to Naperville and changed to its current name in 1926. Today, the school offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in more than 55 majors. North Central College also provides six graduate programs in business administration, liberal studies, education, leadership studies, management information systems and Web and Internet applications. Students living in university housing or an off campus apartment can also enjoy the school's low student-faculty ratio of 15 to 1.
Student living and university living at North Central College places students just west of downtown Chicago - within reach of city landmarks like the Loop, Navy Pier, Willis Tower, the Field Museum and Wrigley Field. On-campus activities also include organizations like the mock trial team, model United Nations, the American Marketing Association and more.
